Pathshala is the early school of Photography in South Asia region, which offers various short-term and long-term educational Programme in photography, film and multimedia journalism throughout the year. Started in 1998, the institution has slowly grown to become a fully-fledged photography educational institution based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

WHY?

The Foundation course in Photography from Pathshala places emphasis on more hands-on experience. A wide variety of photography styles are explored, such as Street, Studio, Landscape, and Portrait to mention a few. Students complete assignments, which are then reviewed, and constructive criticism is provided, thus enabling the students to realize their artistic potential. Pathshala’s foundation course in Photography aims to develop students who embody the role of visual media artist and communicator. In today’s digital environment, possessing a mastery of digital darkroom tools is as essential a skill as learning to frame a shot, and the Foundation course from Pathshala addresses this issue with multiple classes in ‘Digital Darkroom’.
