Pathshala is the early school of Photography in South Asia region, which offers various short-term and long-term educational Programme in photography, film and multimedia journalism throughout the year. Started in 1998, the institution has slowly grown to become a fully-fledged photography educational institution based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Sayed Asif Mahmud


Sayed Asif Mahmud is a documentary photographer, based in Bangladesh. He is a graduate from Pathshala, South Asian Media Institute and currently teaching there. Asif ‘s work has been exhibited in Chobimela VI, Dhaka Art Summit, Bengal Art Lounge, Bangladesh and Noorderlicht Festival of Photography in Netherlands and UAE. His work Tobacco Tale got second prize in Non-Traditional Photojournalism Award by NPPA (2013) and Honorable Mention in The 5th Edition of the Anthropographia Award 2013.
